About this race
The Beast of Béara is an annual mountain trail run and walk held in Allihies on the western tip of the Beara Peninsula in County Cork, organised by Garnish GAA as a fundraiser for club development. The course is approximately 21.1km and follows a challenging looped route starting and finishing in Allihies village. It takes runners along the Copper Mines trail and part of the Beara Way, ascending three peaks: the Allihies Mine Trail at around 250m, Teernahillane at around 200m, and Goula at around 340m. The route passes through the dramatic mountain and coastal landscape of the Slieve Miskish range, with panoramic views across Bantry Bay and the Atlantic. Open to both runners and walkers. The event takes place on Saturday 18 July 2026 and proceeds benefit Garnish GAA and local community groups. Entry includes timing, entertainment, and stewarding.
