Description
The RunSkibb Half Marathon begins on Marsh Road at the Riverside Complex in Skibbereen, heading north to cross the Ilen River at the historic Ballyhilty Bridge. This scenic route leads participants through the heart of West Cork, passing local landmarks such as the Skibbereen Soccer Club and Golf Club before reaching the breathtaking Lough Hyne. Runners navigate a captivating loop around the saltwater lake, experiencing the rugged beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way and passing the world-famous Skibbereen Rowing Club. The terrain consists of smooth, well-maintained tarmac roads that are predominantly flat and fast, though it features a gradual climb toward Lough Hyne and a series of gentle rolling hills. The race concludes with a triumphant return to the town center, finishing back at the Riverside Complex where the vibrant local athletic community gathers to celebrate.
