The River Moy Half Marathon starts and finishes at Heffernan Park, home of Ballina RFC. The route is predominantly flat with a small number of challenging hills, running on roads on either side of the banks of the River Moy through Ballina town. Just over a mile of the course passes through the beautiful Belleek Woods, where runners run on an excellent trail surface through mature woodland. The remainder of the route follows tarmac roads along both banks of the river, offering scenic views of the Moy throughout. Supporters can see competitors at multiple points along the course. Chip timing is provided for all finishers, and this popular Mayo race attracts runners from across Ireland each May.
