Description
The Coast Half Marathon starts and finishes on the village green in the charming coastal village of Killough, Co. Down. Runners head along Main Street before turning onto a quiet country road towards Rossglass, continuing along the stunning coastline to reach the iconic St. John's Point Lighthouse as the turnaround point. The lighthouse, standing since 1844, is the tallest onshore lighthouse in Ireland. Runners return towards Rossglass before joining the scenic main road towards Tyrella, hugging the coastline with sweeping views of Minerstown Beach and the Mourne Mountains. A final U-turn just before Tyrella Beach sends runners back along the route to the finish in Killough. The course is flat to gently undulating throughout, on quiet marshalled rural roads.
