The Great Limerick Run Half Marathon begins in the historic Pery Square, surrounded by Georgian architecture and the award-winning People's Park. This scenic route guides participants through the heart of the city and out toward the Raheen and Dooradoyle suburbs, passing local landmarks such as the Old Crescent Rugby Club. Runners navigate a captivating loop that crosses the River Shannon via the Sarsfield Bridge, offering stunning riverside views and passing the iconic Thomond Park stadium. The terrain is predominantly flat and fast, consisting of well-maintained tarmac roads with a total elevation gain of approximately 94 meters. The race reaches a high-energy conclusion on the bustling O’Connell Street, where participants finish amidst thousands of cheering spectators in the city center.
