About this race

The Banna Run 10k is an annual road race organised by St Brendan's AC, held at Banna in the Ardfert area of north County Kerry. The course starts approximately 750 metres from the Banna Sea Rescue station and follows a route on open public roads through the flat coastal countryside surrounding Banna Strand. The terrain is almost entirely flat throughout and run entirely on tarmac, making it a fast course well suited to those chasing personal bests. The route is AAI certified and chip timed, with full marshaling on the day. The men's winner of the 10k is presented with the Tom O'Riordan Memorial Shield, and the first woman home receives the Chris O'Shea Memorial Shield. All finishers receive a medal and enjoy homemade post-race refreshments, a much-loved tradition at the event. Organised by St Brendan's AC, the Banna Run is one of the club's main annual fundraisers.
