Kilclief Ben Dearg Coastal Run 10k 2026

The Kilclief Ben Dearg Coastal Run 10k is a well-established scenic road race on the Lecale Peninsula in County Down, organised by Kilclief Ben Dearg GAC. Race headquarters are at the club rooms in Kilclief, from where the 10k course follows the coastal roads south towards Ballyhornan and back, described as one of the most picturesque races in the county. The route runs along the shoreline of Strangford Lough on largely flat tarmac roads through the quiet rural landscape of the Lecale Peninsula. Landmarks passed include the area around Kilclief Castle and the coastal heathland approaching Killard Nature Reserve. The event takes place on 12 July 2026, starting at 10:30am, under an Athletics Northern Ireland permit. It draws a strong field from across Ulster and is known for its welcoming atmosphere and spectacular coastal setting along the Down shoreline.
