The Newell 5k is an annual road race organised by Keep Er Lit Running Club in association with Newell Stores, starting from Main Street in the town centre of Coalisland, Co. Tyrone. The flat, fast course winds through and around the streets of Coalisland on fully marshalled, chip-timed roads. The event is a well-established fixture on the Northern Ireland athletics calendar, attracting large and competitive fields from across the province and beyond. Prize money is available for top finishers. Proceeds support local charities including Marie Curie. Participants must be aged 15 or over on race day. Registration and race headquarters are on Main Street, Coalisland. The 5k starts at 10:45am, with the 10k race commencing fifteen minutes later at 11am. Junior distances are also available at the event.
