The first race in the 2026 Mayo AC 5k Series takes place on Tuesday evening at Lough Lannagh in Castlebar. The flat, measured course winds through the scenic Lough Lannagh area, a well-established route used by local runners throughout the year. The race is chip timed and held under an Athletics Ireland permit. This is the fourteenth edition of the popular series, which serves as Mayo AC's primary annual fundraiser and attracts runners of all abilities from across the west of Ireland. Participants register and collect bibs at the St. Gerald's College hall nearby before heading to the start line. The series is supported by main sponsors EBS, Intersport Elverys, and Shaw Commercials, with Mayo Mental Health Association as charity partner for 2026. Online registration is available in advance.
