The Tubbercurry Trail parkrun begins and ends in an open clearing approximately 200 meters from the R294 entrance to Tubbercurry Woods in County Sligo. This scenic 5k course follows a unique figure-of-eight route that guides participants through lush woodlands, including the enchanting Spruce and Oak corridors, and out across the open Rathscanlon Bog. Runners enjoy a peaceful journey along the banks of the Maiden River, offering a calm oasis with stunning panoramic views of the distant Ox Mountains. The terrain is run on a mixture of well-maintained gravel paths and natural forest trails, providing a consistent surface that is remarkably flat and fast. With its diverse landscape of young forests and traditional bogland, this professionally organized event captures the rugged, natural beauty of the South Sligo countryside.
