Description
The New Ross parkrun begins and ends beside the playground at the magnificent John F. Kennedy Memorial Park and Arboretum, situated south of the town. This unique 5k course consists of one and a half anticlockwise laps, guiding participants through a world-renowned collection of over 4,000 tree species, including aromatic pines and eucalyptus. Runners follow a scenic route that offers tranquil views of the vast parklands and the onsite Tea Rooms. The terrain is run entirely on permanent bitmac paths, providing a firm and reliable surface in all weather conditions. While the route starts with a relatively sharp descent, it is characterized by a long, gradual climb that offers a rewarding test of stamina amidst the arboretum’s natural beauty.
