Description
The Mallow Castle parkrun begins and ends within the historic grounds of Mallow Castle, finishing in the shadow of the 13th-century ruins. This engaging 5k course exits through a pedestrian gate towards the River Blackwater, guiding participants across two footbridges into a scenic parkland. Runners complete two anticlockwise loops that wind through tranquil, tree-lined trails where lucky participants might spot the estate's famous white deer. The terrain is a reliable mixture of concrete and trail paths, offering a consistent surface that is celebrated for being predominantly flat and fast. While much of the route is level, it features a gentle initial descent and a rewarding short uphill push to the finish line, providing a spirited conclusion to this atmospheric run.
