The Inis Meáin parkrun begins and ends at the Inis Meáin Community Hall, serving as a scenic gateway to the rugged heart of the "middle" Aran Island. This unique 5k course consists of two anti-clockwise laps on quiet public roads, guiding participants past iconic dry stone walls and landmarks like Scoil Naomh Eoin and the Teac Osta pub. Runners enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Galway Bay and the Atlantic coastline throughout the entire route. The terrain is run entirely on permanent tarmac paths, providing a consistent surface in a remote and tranquil setting. While significantly hilly, featuring a 500-metre climb at the start of each lap, the course rewards athletes with sweeping descents and an unparalleled island atmosphere.
