Description
The Griffeen parkrun begins and ends near the Haydens Lane car park entrance of Griffeen Valley Park in Lucan. This scenic 5k course consists of two laps that guide participants along the banks of the Griffeen River, offering views of lush greenery and local wildlife. A highlight of the route is passing the historic King John's Bridge, reputed to be one of the oldest bridges in Ireland. The terrain is run entirely on permanent tarmac paths, providing a reliable and smooth surface for all participants. While the course is predominantly flat and fast, it features a few gentle undulations and short bridge inclines that add a rewarding variety to the rhythm. This professionally organized event is cherished for its inclusive atmosphere and the beautiful riverside setting of South Dublin.
