Description
The Bweeng Trail Blazers 5k is an award-winning road race organised by Bweeng Trail Blazers AC in association with Bweeng Community Centre. The course starts approximately 500 metres from Race HQ, before heading back toward HQ and turning left onto the Lombardstown Road. The opening kilometre features a slight downhill gradient, giving runners a fast start. The route follows an out-and-back format, turning at the 2.5k mark. The middle section is largely fast with a small number of minor inclines; the out-and-back layout means any elevation gained in one direction is offset on the return. The final kilometre benefits from a slight descent, and the last 400 metres allows for a strong finish. The course is chip-timed from start to finish and is widely regarded as one of the fastest 5k courses in Ireland.
